Here are the photos of #58 restored as VALE 3025 on RP. Oddly enough, there are no photos of either steamer with exception of my post arson photos, so also attaching a RRPA link for all locos. in the spring of 2010 by Kovalchick Corp., and it appears that they have pulled up camp for the winter in the area of Crown with the rest of the line remaining from this point RR west to the Kinzua Viaduct, minus crossings. Removal of the remainder of the line was started at Clarion Jct. This would be the last passenger train into Knox with the rails removed from the eastern terminus of Knox west to Clarion Jct. The 1/2 hour long video is of a special excursion from the KKRR’s base of operations in Marienville to my hometown of Knox in 1993, and was covered in I believe the Jan 1994 issue of Railpace. This video is not my video, but is a close friend’s who gave me permission to edit and upload to my YouTube channel. ![]() David Conrad purchased #58 for the VALE, Alan Maples won #38 for his Everett RR at Holidaysburg, PA, and Gerald Altizer won GP9 #39 for his Georges Creek Railway in Maryland. With the failing health of owner Sloan Cornell (in the orange hat at Knox in the video), the tragedy of the 2008 engine house arson fire with the loss of #39, #38, and #58 put the nail in the coffin for the Knox and Kane making them sell off the entire physical property at the 10/08 liquidation auction in which J. They had also stated at that time that the former Huntingdon and Broad Top 2-8-0 #38 was almost ready to run after an FRA inspection, so they had hoped to finish the season out with steam after starting it with GP9 #39. I had spoken with KKRR personnel in 2007, and they had told me that they had hoped to return to passenger excursions running from Kane to the Kinzua Viaduct in the summer of 2008. With the fairly recent good news of The Valley Railroad getting the Knox and Kane Mikado #58 restored and operating as New Haven 3025, I wanted to share a video of the Knox and Kane Railroad in better times that I have just uploaded. ![]()
